Audio Samples from Angelicum Great Books Program Classes
The next recording of a 1st year (Greek year) Great Books class. These are students just starting out on their four year Great Books adventure. After listening/watching this class you might want to experience some of the 4th year class we have posted below. Is there a contrast between the 1st year students and the 4th year students?
The readings for this 1st year class are the Greek tragedies Antigone and Hippolytus. The poetry [we begin every class with poetry] is titled Virtue, by George Herbert. To listen to one of our Angelicum Great Books Program classes, Ancient Greek Year (1st year), click HERE. Enjoy.
We invite you to join us by listening in on one of our Great Books Program classes. Each of our classes begins with a little poetry. This one is discussing a gem of a poem by Wordsworth entitled A Solitary Reaper. The main reading and discussion is Goethe’s Faust. To listen to one of our Angelicum Great Books Program classes (about two hours in length), Moderns Year (4th year), click HERE. Enjoy.
